Big thanks to my hometown paper The Nottingham Post for featuring my personal project REALITY FOOTBALL, currently on show at Wembley Stadium.

The greasy spoon cafe has long held a special place in the hearts and stomachs of the UK. No more so than at this time of year when we soak up too much seasonal cheer.
My latest personal project GREASY CHRISTMAS combines my two jobs as ‘full English’ tester & photographer. Shot over one month last year in and around London, my aim was to capture the humour of often neglected interiors and over saturated hues on offer.
In today’s austere economic times it’s nice to know some things are still reliable and cheap.
See the rest of the project here and feel free to pass it on.

It’s not everyday you go to your own exhibition opening and the hosts put on a small game of football for your guests to watch.
This was the case last Sunday when REALITY FOOTBALL opened at Wembley Stadium. It was such a surprise to see the owners had lined up Man. United v Chelsea to entertain the art lovers.
It was a real bonus for my Nephew, Dad, Brother in law and players from the project ! Big thanks to the other eighty nine thousand people for attending the exhibition which runs for most of the season on Level 2 in Club Wembley…hope you get chance to see the project, or a game.
Imagine my surprise the other week when I got a phone call from the good folk at Wembley Stadium.
At last I thought, Mr. Cappello has taken note of my hourly phone calls and wants a one-on-one to talk tactics and team selection. Alas no…THE home of the English game, and to many one of the finest stadiums on the planet, want to exhibit my humble project Reality Football !
What started out as a few snaps on Hackney Marshes, then lead to a nation wide shoot and exhibition in Shoreditch, has now made it to the hollowed halls of Wem-ber-ley, in association with Exhibit X.
So if you happen to be beneath the famous arch in Club Wembley this Sunday with a few minutes to spare in-between prawn sandwiches, check out a few giants of UK football.
Not those lowly lads from Man United or Chelsea but the mighty Surreal Madrid, the magnificent Hackney Martians and a host of other Sunday Leaguers who never in their wildest dreams ever thought they would be gracing such famous walls.
The project will be on show for the following season but if you don’t get chance to visit North London, please visit realityfootball.org to see the unsung heroes of the beautiful game.

There’s still just chance to catch the stunning REALITY FOOTBALL prints in the flesh at theprintspace gallery in sunny Kingsland Road.
The exhibition closes July 20th but the project is available for elsewhere should the right walls get in touch.
Hope you get chance to see the work and feel free to send any comments through to alan@alanpowdrill.com
